Location: Republic, WA 99166
Assignment Start Date: 2/26/2025
Shift Information: Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
Average 4-5 patients a day
Facility Salary: $79,040.00 to $124,800.00

Performs two-dimensional (2-D) ultrasonic recordings of internal organs for the diagnosis of disease and study of the malfunction of organs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations.
- Perform invasive ultrasound procedures, doppler vascular examinations, deep abdominal studies, and color-flow ultrasounds as required.
- Select appropriate equipment for use in ultrasound setup, following exam specifications.
- Explain the test to the patient. Instructs and assists the patient in assuming the physical position for examination.
- Able to assess patient pain interfering with imaging procedure; makes appropriate physician contact for intervention.
- Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
- Supports and maintains a culture of safety and quality.
- Selects a transducer and adjusts the equipment controls according to the organ to be examined, the depth of field, and other specifications of the test.
- Enter test data and patient information into the computer of ultrasound equipment to maintain a record of test results.
- Moves transducer, by hand, over specified area of the body and observes sound wave display screen to monitor quality of ultrasonic pattern produced.
- Produced images of internal organs and recorded diagnostic data on PACS.
- Obtains permanent record of internal examination by photographing images of organs shown on the display module or removing the strip printout.
- Evaluates technical quality of films to obtain representative images of pathogenic conditions; processes film by standard procedures or techniques.
- Discussed test results with supervisor or attending physician when needed.
- Performs all quality control checks as prescribed.
- Maintain accurate QC logs, service records, etc.
- Maintains records of ultrasound images taken, archiving and de-archiving data as required; calculates, compiles and records data from numerical readings on patient's medical record and related documents.
- Understands and practices proper use of all equipment; never operates equipment inconsistent with manufacturer's instruction.
- Calibrates, cleans, and performs routine maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning; cleans and sterilizes instruments, supplies, and equipment; stocks and replenishes supplies as needed
- Documentation meets current standards and hospital policy
- Provides care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient, including pediatric, geriatric, and general population.
- Perform related duties as assigned by management.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

- Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices and the employee handbook.
- Communicates the mission, vision, and values of the organization as well as the focus of the department.
- Meets dress code standards for the department; appearance is neat and clean.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION
Experience:
- Must be able to do Echos, Vascular and General Ultrasound
Education:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography is desirable.
- Successful completion of an approved one (1) year program in ultrasound technology.
Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registration:
- Must be eligible for registry by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
- Certification in area of specialty.
- Current BLS certification.
- Current compliance with Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements for specialty as appropriate.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, patients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
