 Job Summary 
We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Stepdown RN to provide specialized care for patients in a stepdown unit. The ideal candidate will have experience in critical care and be able to manage patients who no longer require intensive care but still need close monitoring and management. This role requires critical thinking, excellent clinical skills, and the ability to respond quickly to changing patient conditions.
 Duties 
 
Provide comprehensive care to stepdown patients, closely monitoring vital signs, lab results, and symptoms.
 
Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians and according to established protocols.
 
Monitor patients post-surgery or after intensive care, ensuring they are stable and recovering effectively.
 
Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
 
Respond quickly to patient emergencies, providing critical care when necessary.
 
Educate patients and their families about their condition, recovery process, and discharge plans.
 
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
 
Ensure adherence to infection control practices and patient safety standards.
 
 Experience 
 
Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a Stepdown or Critical Care setting required.
 
Experience with telemetry, cardiac monitoring, and post-surgical recovery preferred.
 
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
 
 Requirements 
 
Required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, RN license
 
Will float to ICU if appropriate and has experience
 
Minimum 2 years of experience
