**PROJECT DETAILS**

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

- Under the direction of the Chief Telecommunications Electrician, plans and oversees the layout, wiring and installation of various telecommunications systems and equipment for all Cook County facilities and affiliations.
- Coordinates the activities of Telecommunication Electricians assigned to various tasks.
- Interprets and reviews blueprints, diagrams and specifications of telecommunication installations.
- Determines appropriate work procedures, materials and tools necessary to complete work orders.
- Prioritizes work orders and assigns work to Telecommunications Electricians.
- Verifies proper maintenance of equipment and tools and may assist Telecommunications Electricians with work assignments and situations when necessary.
- Attends meetings with the department’s administrative staff to plan work projects, forecast project timetables and discuss the deployment of personnel along with anticipated problems.
- Performs the duties and functions of a Telecommunications Electrician when needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

**REQUIRED DEGREE**

Successful completion of an approved and recognized four (4) year telecommunication technician apprenticeship program pursuant to attaining Journeyman status in installation and maintenance.
