Substation Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a Substation Design Engineer with hands-on experience in either physical layout design or protection & control (P&C) systems for high-voltage substations. This is a long-term opportunity with a well-established engineering consultancy supporting major utility clients across the U.S.Responsibilities:Design and develop substation layout drawings, elevation views, one-lines, and wiring diagrams.Coordinate with project managers, civil/structural, and electrical teams to ensure integrated project delivery.Perform equipment selection and develop BOMs.Collaborate with utilities to interpret standards and ensure compliance.Use AutoCAD or MicroStation (and ideally, experience with physical modeling in Revit or Inventor is a plus).Qualifications:3+ years of experience in substation design (physical or P&C).Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.Prior experience supporting utilities or EPCs.BSEE preferred; EIT or PE is a plus but not required.
