JOB DESCRIPTION

 
Provide subject matter specific consultation on security best practices for various topics pertaining to securing and hardening IT infrastructure.
 
Design and implement security controls for servers and related IT infrastructure systems such as hypervisors, storage systems, backup systems, and mainframe.
 
Collaborate with others to identify and manage security risks.
 
Assist with hands-on technical validation of security controls.
 
Help to plan security related projects and deliverables.
 
Manage security tools to ensure best practices are being followed.
 
Assist teams with vulnerability management processes.
 
 Qualifications: 
 
Experience: 
 
At least two years of experience working in a professional IT or IT Security position.
 
Experience responding to or analyzing cyberattacks in an incident response capacity, or experience performing simulated cyberattacks in a penetration testing capacity.
 
Experience writing and reviewing technical build documentation, policy documents, and procedure documents.
 
 
 
Conceptual and/or practical understanding of the following: 
 
Cyberattack techniques, detections, and preventions.
 
Windows / Linux operating systems.
 
Virtualization and hypervisors.
 
Computer Networks and Common Network Protocols.
 
Active Directory.
 
Backup and recovery systems.
 
Mainframe systems.
 
 
 
Soft Skills: 
 
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
 
Self-starter. Must be able to identify, plan, and track milestones to achieve goals with minimal direction or supervision.
 
Ability to prioritize and keep track of projects in a fast-paced environment
 
Good communication skills
 
 
 
Education, and certifications: 
 
BS degree in Computer Science or a related field
 
Active relevant security certification from a reputable organization such as ISC2, SANS GIAC, or equivalent.
