JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Scrum Certified Project Manager (Medical Device R&D)
Location: Irvine, CA (Preferred: Full-time, on-site, minimum 4 days per week with flexible hours)
Contract Duration: 16-18 months, with potential for extension

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage a high-level integrated milestone plan for the program, ensuring alignment with the change management plan to control scope, quality, schedule, cost, and contracts.
  • Utilize a modified Scrum framework to oversee the development of a cardiovascular medical device, ensuring compliance with quality system requirements throughout the product development process.
  • Serve as Scrum Master, collaborating with the R&D Leader/Product Owner and cross-functional teams to facilitate sprint activities, including:
    • Leading intensive planning sessions to build and prioritize the product backlog.
    • Driving Sprint Planning, facilitating daily stand-up meetings, conducting Sprint Reviews, and tracking key metrics.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with program stakeholders, both internal and external, to manage expectations and ensure effective communication.
  • Ensure compliance with Design Control requirements as outlined by the company's Quality System, including:
    • Coordinating and preparing for technical reviews and design control phase gate reviews.
    • Creating and managing Design History Files within the document management system.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Engineering preferred).
  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience managing large to mid-sized projects or programs of increasing complexity.

Additional Skills:

  • Expertise in MS Office Suite and project management tools (e.g., MS Project Desktop, MS Project Online, MS Planner).
  • Strong documentation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to influence change and drive team performance.
  • Experience facilitating change and collaborating with management and executive stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with regulated environments, preferably within medical devices.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality and process.
