Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse for our Operating Room. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to surgical patients, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the perioperative process. This role requires strong clinical skills, the ability to handle diverse surgical cases, and a commitment to patient education and support.Duties
- Prepare and assist in surgical procedures, ensuring a sterile environment and adherence to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
- Monitor and assess the condition of patients before, during, and after surgery.
- Administer medications and manage anesthesia as directed.
- Educate patients and their families about the surgical process, recovery, and follow-up care.
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient records using electronic health record systems such as Epic or Meditech.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and patient safety standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and workflow efficiency.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Surgical or Operating Room setting.
- Experience with various surgical specialties preferred.
Requirements
- 2 years CURRENT hospital experience - REQUIRED
- OR circulate experience with ortho (including total hip, total knee), general surgery, gyn, podiatry, urology, ENT, ENDO - Required - PLEASE UPLOAD DETAILED SKILLS CHECKLIST!
- Arterial line, Central Line, IV start skills - Required
- Vent & BiPAP experience - Required
- Current PALS Certification - Required
- BSN - Preferred
- Previous travel experience - Preferred
