Overall Position Summary and Objectives: As a Clinical Research Nurse Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting clinical research activities. You will manage patient recruitment, data collection, protocol adherence, and ensure patient safety, contributing to advancements in medical research.

Minimum Education:

  • Associate's degree in Nursing or equivalent
  • Master's degree in Nursing preferred

Certifications & Licenses:

  • Current state nursing licensure
  • CPR certification
  • Minimum of three (3) years of specialized experience

Skills:

  • Strong diagnostic and clinical skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Recruitment & Screening:
  • Recruit, screen, and evaluate patients for clinical trials.
  • Conduct interviews and assess eligibility for research protocols.
  • Patient Care & Follow-up:
  • Provide clinical support to patients participating in research protocols.
  • Maintain active referral lists and patient schedules.
  • Deliver patient care instructions and assess understanding of research processes.
  • Data Management & Compliance:
  • Collect, enter, and manage research data.
  • Ensure adherence to protocol and regulatory compliance.
  • Perform quality assurance and control activities.
  • Clinical Assessments:
  • Conduct medical and psychiatric assessments.
  • Document patient observations and assess data for clinical action.
  • Training & Mentorship:
  • Train and mentor new staff in research practices and protocol implementation.
  • Facilitate multidisciplinary performance improvement programs.
  • Protocol & Research Development:
  • Develop and implement new research protocols.
  • Contribute to the design and evaluation of complex protocols.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to improve patient care delivery systems.
  • Participate in outreach and recruitment activities to advance study goals.
  • Coordinate specimen collection for vaccine studies.
  • Provide HIV testing counseling and deliver results responsibly.
