Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Patient Care Coordinator to join our Clinical Trials Unit team. This role will support clinical research studies and focus on patient care coordination, scheduling, and communication for a specialized clinic. If you have a strong background in healthcare coordination, scheduling, and patient interaction, and are looking to make a difference in patient care, this role may be for you.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Coordination: Handle recruitment, screening, travel, and scheduling of study participants. Serve as the primary contact for patients, addressing questions and concerns.
- Scheduling and Communication: Coordinate with medical and research teams to schedule patient appointments, imaging studies, and procedures. Ensure timely communications with patients, families, and caregivers.
- Data and Record Management: Collect, verify, and maintain patient data and records. Ensure accurate and complete data entry into clinical databases and electronic medical records.
- Liaison and Support: Act as a liaison between participants, their families, and clinical staff. Manage patient inquiries, prioritize issues, and troubleshoot scheduling conflicts to optimize clinic operations.
- Protocol Compliance: Understand study protocols and ensure patient scheduling adheres to protocol requirements. Communicate updates to patients as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Education: Associate's degree (required); certification in health services administration or related fields is a plus.
- Experience and Skills:
- Proficient in patient scheduling and travel coordination
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Experience in recruitment and patient care coordination
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and electronic medical records
- Field of Study: Health or Medical Administrative Services, General Medical and Health Services
Additional Responsibilities:
- Maintain patient and volunteer referral records
- Manage patient reimbursement and scheduling conflicts
- Assist with quality control and audit preparation for clinical records
- Provide mentoring and training to new team members on clinical operations
