Pay Range - $40 - $45/hr
 
We have an immediate long-term opportunity with one of our prime clients for a position L2 Network Support Engineer to work in Sunnyvale, CA on Hybrid basis.
 
  
 
Must Have: Candidates need to have: Oracle / Juniper Network experience (such as Cisco Nexus and VxLAN technologies), and experience responding to network alerts while monitoring data centers.

Position Summary
 
  
 
Role Overview:
 
As an L2 Network Support Engineer at Walmart, you will be a crucial part of our network operations team, responsible for addressing and resolving complex network issues that cannot be handled by the L1 support team. Your role will involve monitoring network alerts, responding to support emails, and escalating unresolved issues to the L3 team when necessary.
 
  
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
 
Troubleshoot and resolve advanced network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
 
Monitor network alerts and system performance, taking proactive measures to prevent issues.
 
Respond to and manage support emails, providing timely and effective solutions.
 
Escalate unresolved or critical issues to the L3 support team.
 
Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless network operations across various platforms and locations.
 
 
  
 
Preferred Skills:
 
 
Proficiency with Cisco Nexus and VxLAN technologies.
 
Experience working in data center environments.
 
Familiarity with network routing and switching.
 
Ability to perform packet captures and analyze network traffic using tools like Wireshark.
 
Knowledge of Cisco and Juniper network systems.
 
Understanding of virtual platforms and wireless network technologies.
 
 
  
 
Qualifications:
 
 
Availability to work Monday to Friday, with on-call duties as needed.
 
Strong experience with Cisco and Juniper network equipment.
 
Proficiency in managing virtual platforms and wireless networks.
 
Expertise in network route/switch configurations.
 
Skilled in packet capture and analysis using Wireshark.
 
 
  
 
Projects:
 
 
Support and maintain client's enterprise network, including legacy data centers, private cloud infrastructure, and campus buildings.
 
Manage and optimize the edge network, covering stores, distribution centers, and public cloud environments.
