IT Local Technical Support Specialist (Network)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary:As an IT Local Technical Support Specialist (Network), you will be responsible for providing technical assistance and troubleshooting for the computer systems and networks of our regional sites and distribution centers. You will also be involved in designing, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing the network infrastructure and services along with security. Job Responsibilities: Responding to user requests and issues via phone, email, chat, or in personInstalling, configuring, updating, and maintaining hardware and software components Diagnosing and resolving technical problems with computer systems, servers, storage, printers, networks, access points, routers, switches, firewalls, and other devicesProviding training and guidance to users on how to use various network applications and systemsDocumenting and reporting technical issues, solutions, and feedbackCollaborating with other IT staff, outsource partners and vendors to ensure optimal performance and security of the systems and servicesPerforming routine maintenance and backup of systems and dataEvaluating and optimizing network performance data regarding things like speed, connectivity, and disaster recoveryJob Requirements:A degree in computer science, information technology, network engineering, or a related fieldExperience in providing technical support and customer serviceKnowledge of common operating systems, applications, and protocolsAbility to troubleshoot and solve technical problems in a timely and effective mannerExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAttention to detail and accuracyAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to learn new technologies and skills quickly Open to travel to remote sites as requiredCertifications from reputable organizations such as CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, Redhat, VMWare, AWS, Google, IBM, etc. Additional Information:Relocation and/or work sponsorship are not available with this position. Position remotes to off-site IT manager with dotted line to local facility manager.
