JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Sr. Information Technology Desktop Support Technician Level 2

Primary Location: Chicago, IL (2 days on-site) LOOP!! Hybrid: 2 days in-office per week (initially full-time in-office for training).

Position Type: Direct Hire

Salary with great benefits - $70K to 80K

Spanish language skills are a plus.

Quarterly travel for project-based fieldwork.

Weekend on-call rotation (one weekend every few months, Fri-Sun, with a team of seven).

Overview

Candidate:

  • 3-5 years of IT support experience, degree preferred (Computer Science or related).
  • Strong customer support skills, white glove service, and executive interaction experience.
  • Experience managing Windows Server environments (2008/2012), Office365 administration, Microsoft Exchange, PowerShell scripting, and VMware infrastructure is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with ITIL best practices or ITIL Foundation V4 certification is a plus.
  • Professional certifications such as Microsoft MCP, MCSE, Cisco CCNA, or VMware VCA are advantageous.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting expertise across software applications and hardware systems, including servers, desktops, and laptops.
  • Ability to physically move and set up IT hardware, including computers and video equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Escalation point from Level 1 support.
  • Support internal applications (Windows, Microsoft Office, proprietary system integrations).
  • Work with Meraki access points, Cisco networking, server rebuilds, VMware to Hyper-V migrations.
  • Office moves: setting up desks, monitors, cabling, and physically moving equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for desktops, laptops, servers, and smart devices; escalate complex cases when necessary.
  • Provide technical support for proprietary applications, including a customer and client tracking system.
  • Monitor and manage IT infrastructure, including servers, network switches, routers, UPS systems, and backups, ensuring operational continuity.
  • Serve as a regional escalation contact for service desks across London, Chicago, and Sydney, assisting with IT-related issues.

Compensation Information

The expected salary range for this position is $70,000-$80,000 per year depending on experience and qualifications. This role also qualifies for comprehensive benefits such as health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off. Committed to pay transparency and equal opportunity.
