Job Title: Electrical Supervising Engineer (Nuclear)

Location: Newport, Michigan (Relocation Assistance Available)

Base Salary: $145,000 - $165,000

Job Description:

As an Electrical Supervising Engineer, you will play a critical role in the safe and efficient operation of a nuclear power plant. You will lead a team of engineers and designers, providing on-site technical expertise and oversight for electrical and instrumentation & control (I&C) systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership:
    • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of engineers and designers.
    • Review and approve engineering designs, calculations, and documentation.
    • Ensure adherence to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and project specifications.
  • Engineering Design and Analysis:
    • Develop detailed electrical and I&C system designs, including single-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
    • Perform engineering calculations, such as short circuit, voltage drop, coordination, and arc flash studies, using industry-standard software (e.g., OTI-ETAP).
    • Prepare equipment specifications for transformers, switchgear, MCCs, UPS/DC systems, communication systems, and instrumentation and control systems.
  • Project Management:
    • Monitor project schedules and budgets, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution.
    • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and construction teams to ensure seamless integration.
    • Identify and resolve technical challenges and risks.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Stay informed about industry regulations and standards, including IEEE, EPRI, ISA, IAEA, and NRC requirements.
    • Ensure that all engineering work complies with regulatory requirements and quality assurance standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 8+ years of experience in electrical and I&C system design for power plants or heavy industrial facilities.
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical and I&C system design for nuclear power plants.
  • Strong understanding of nuclear power plant operations and safety principles.
  • Proficiency in electrical engineering software tools (e.g., ETAP, AutoCAD).
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access to a nuclear power plant.
