Job Title: Electrical Supervising Engineer (Nuclear)
Location: Newport, Michigan (Relocation Assistance Available)
Base Salary: $145,000 - $165,000
Job Description:
As an Electrical Supervising Engineer, you will play a critical role in the safe and efficient operation of a nuclear power plant. You will lead a team of engineers and designers, providing on-site technical expertise and oversight for electrical and instrumentation & control (I&C) systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership:
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of engineers and designers.
- Review and approve engineering designs, calculations, and documentation.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and project specifications.
- Engineering Design and Analysis:
- Develop detailed electrical and I&C system designs, including single-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
- Perform engineering calculations, such as short circuit, voltage drop, coordination, and arc flash studies, using industry-standard software (e.g., OTI-ETAP).
- Prepare equipment specifications for transformers, switchgear, MCCs, UPS/DC systems, communication systems, and instrumentation and control systems.
- Project Management:
- Monitor project schedules and budgets, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and construction teams to ensure seamless integration.
- Identify and resolve technical challenges and risks.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay informed about industry regulations and standards, including IEEE, EPRI, ISA, IAEA, and NRC requirements.
- Ensure that all engineering work complies with regulatory requirements and quality assurance standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
- 8+ years of experience in electrical and I&C system design for power plants or heavy industrial facilities.
- 5+ years of experience in electrical and I&C system design for nuclear power plants.
- Strong understanding of nuclear power plant operations and safety principles.
- Proficiency in electrical engineering software tools (e.g., ETAP, AutoCAD).
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access to a nuclear power plant.
