JOB DESCRIPTION

Diesel Mechanic
Location:
 Medora, IN
Shift:
 2nd- 2 PM-12 AM
Pay:
 $24-28/hr + $2 shift differential
Requirements:
Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in vehicle maintenance and repair, preferably on heavy trucks and diesel engines.
Ability to read and interpret repair manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics for troubleshooting.
Must possess the necessary tools and ability to safely operate service vehicles and equipment.
Obtain DOT medical certification before employment.
Ability to complete required documentation accurately, both electronically and on paper.
Understanding of and adherence to all safety regulations, with strong communication and teamwork skills.
Responsibilities:
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles based on maintenance schedules and driver inspection reports (DVIRs).
Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and complete necessary repairs, adjustments, and component replacements.
Inspect, service, and maintain vehicle systems, including brakes, electrical, air systems, fluids, and filters
Maintain accurate service records (time, work orders, and parts usage) and ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
Safely operate, test drive, and perform roadside repairs when needed while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
