Job Overview:We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Credit Analyst to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing the creditworthiness of individuals or businesses applying for loans, credit, or other financial products. The Credit Analyst will evaluate financial data, perform credit risk analysis, and provide insights to help drive informed decision-making and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Credit Risk Assessment: Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data to assess the creditworthiness of individuals, businesses, or customers.
- Credit Reports: Prepare and present comprehensive credit reports and recommendations to senior management regarding credit limits, terms, and approval decisions.
- Credit Policies: Ensure that all credit decisions adhere to the company's credit policy and regulatory guidelines.
- Financial Analysis: Perform ratio analysis, trend analysis, and benchmarking of financial performance to identify potential risks and opportunities.
- Portfolio Management: Monitor existing credit portfolios to identify emerging risks and recommend appropriate actions to mitigate loss exposure.
- Customer Interaction: Liaise with customers or applicants to clarify financial information and resolve discrepancies, ensuring a smooth and transparent process.
- Credit Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of credit approvals, transactions, and any communication with clients or third parties.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the sales, collections, and legal teams to manage credit decisions, disputes, and collections.
- Market Trends: Stay informed about market conditions, industry trends, and economic factors that could impact the credit landscape.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in credit analysis or a similar financial role.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of financial statements, credit reports, and financial analysis techniques.
- Excellent knowledge of credit risk management and underwriting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions such as pivot tables, v-lookups, and data analysis).
- Familiarity with credit rating systems and financial modeling tools.
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Certifications (Optional): CFA, FRM, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
- Base Salary: $55,000 $85,000 per year (commensurate with experience)
- Bonus: Eligible for performance-based bonuses
