Department/Team Description:  
 
 
 
CAD design technician use computers to create 2D design - surface modelling, or 3D design     solid modeling with strong computer skills and extensive knowledge of design software. 
 
 
 
Use surface of modeling to draw a flat representation of the product. 
 
 
 
In solid modeling, you'll create a 3D display of a structure or component. 
 
 
 
Engineers could then use this to take a 'virtual tour' or may 'look inside' a piece of manufacturing machinery to see where improvements could be made. 
 
 
 
Use designs to help prepare cost estimates on projects, and produce assembly instructions and maintenance manuals for installation, service and repair technicians.
 
 
 
Technicians work on different parts of a project under the guidance of an engineer. 
 
 
 
A knowledge of material properties, an understanding of manufacturing processes and construction methods is a requirement. 
 
 
 
5 years experience- no degree required.
